The South African Minister of Sport and Recreation, Rev Dr Makhenkesei Stofile, visited St Mary’s University College last week to look over his national team training camp facilities where they will be based prior to the London 2012 Olympics.

 

The Lensbury and St Mary’s University were chosen by South Africa for its excellent sporting facilities. During his visit Rev Dr Makhenkesei Stofile has said: ”I am very impressed by the way the facilities have been integrated.”

 

Lacy Curtis-Ward, Chief Executive of the Lensbury, met the Minister and took the opportunity to present a Lensbury goodie bag. The meeting ended on a high note with the minister commenting on how impressed with the excellent facilities on offer to the South Africa Team and that he was looking forward to achieving at least 12 medals in 2012!
