About us

Part of London + Regional Hotels, The Lensbury Resort is located on the Banks of the River Thames at Teddington and is home to an exclusive leisure club, a 155 bedroom hotel, meeting and events space, restaurant and bar, Spa and 25 acres of gardens and grounds.

The role

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Front Office Manager will hold overall responsibility for creating an environment that ensures both guest satisfaction and employee engagement. With the ability to forecast and plan as well as manage and develop the Front Office team, you will have the drive and passion to maximise sales and revenue for The Lensbury.

Key Responsibilities

·Work with the Reservations Manager and Operations Director to achieve maximum occupancy of bedrooms whilst adhering to accommodation strategy and departmental SOP’s;
·Ensure all guests’ needs are handled quickly and efficiently achieving the high standard of customer service in line with The Lensbury’s Brand Standards;
·Ensure maximum bedroom occupancy using yield management practices as agreed with the Reservations Manager or Operations Director, delivering or improving budgeted targets;
·Ensure the team are fully trained in product knowledge and sales initiatives and have in-depth knowledge of all Lensbury facilities; up-selling whenever possible;
·Ensure all data protection requirements are maintained and staff are fully trained in the standards;
·Enforce Health & Safety requirements in line with H&S policy, Risk Assessment etc. The department is an emergency focal point and all staff must be fully conversant in all emergency procedures;
·Ensure all staff within the department are presentable; uniform is always clean, neatly pressed and correctly worn with name badge;
·Ensure that the rotas are planned for business needs, sickness and holiday records entered into Fourth and relevant paperwork submitted to Payroll promptly;
·Carry out departmental inductions and training on all procedures and standards within the department;
·Positively promote The Lensbury Vision within the team;
·Maintain an efficient and up to date room management delivery system to manage bedroom yield;
·Ensure group reservations are managed in accordance with room strategy guidelines;
·Work with the Assistant Reception Manager to ensure the SOP manual remains up to date and accurate at all times, ensuring the Operations Director is kept fully informed of any changes in standards or procedures;
·Ensure compliance with all shift procedures including ‘opening’ and ‘closing’ as detailed in SOP manual and give training as required;
·Ensure the department and Club is energy efficient to meet sustainability targets and work with colleagues to reduce energy costs and consumable waste;
·Work with the departments to promote and market The Lensbury’s offer;
·Carry out other duties as identified, this job description reflects the current situation, but is subject to change from time to time

What we’re looking for:

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications, attitude, behaviours, skills, and values:
·Previous experience in a similar role;
·Strong commercial, operational and financial acumen, including experience in managing a budget and forecasting results;
·Diplomacy and communication skills to handle complaints and emergencies in a level-headed manner
·Strong leadership skills to effectively manage and motivate the team to achieve high level of performance and exceed targets;
·Accountable and resilient, with the ability to work under pressure;
