Summer Food and Drinks FAQs and your guide to joining us safely this summer.

How do I pre-book? arrow-down

You can pre-book for lunch or dinner in our Lounge Restaurant and on our Terrace for dining and drinks using our simple online booking tool,  click here.

Why do I have to pre-book? arrow-down

We require a pre-booking if you are joining us for lunch or dinner in our Lounge Restaurant or drinks on our Terrace for two reasons:

1- In line with Government guidance, to limit the number of guests in our dining areas at any one time to allow for social distancing and regular and thorough cleaning.

2 – So that we are able to ‘track and trace’ all diners who have dined with us, as per Government guidance.

Your table will be reserved for a total period of 2 hours at busy times to ensure the availability for other bookings who may wish to use these popular areas, allowing us to maintain social distancing.

Am I able to use the lounge area to work? arrow-down

In order to maintain capacity, the Lounge Restaurant is available by pre-booking only for those wishing to join us for lunch and dinner only.

What happens if I have pre-booked the Terrace and the weather is poor? arrow-down

In the event of poor weather, an alternative indoor space will be made available and will be set up with social distancing in mind.

Can I just turn up for a drink? arrow-down

In order to use our Lounge Restaurant and Terrace area for dining and drinks, you must pre-book a table (click here). However, you are welcome to use the wider grounds for takeaway drinks from our ‘horsebox’ bar located near to our Terrace – just bring along your own picnic blanket and find a secluded spot! Please enter via Conference Reception if you are just joining us for a drink.

Our dedicated Social Distancing Manager will be on hand to ensure that social distancing is being observed.

What if I have to cancel my booking? arrow-down

If you wish to cancel your booking we would ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to ensure we have availability for fellow members and guests.

If I have pre-booked where should I arrive? arrow-down

If you have pre-booked and are joining us for lunch, dinner, drinks or to collect your picnic order then you should enter via Hotel Reception, where you will have your temperature taken and be directed through to the Lounge Restaurant.

Members Reception is reserved for pre-booked sports sessions only (tennis, personal training, and watersports).

Can I bring along a guest who is not a Member? arrow-down

Yes, you are more than welcome to bring along up to 5 guests that are non-members, provided they are accompanied by a current member who presents a valid membership card on arrival. Whilst our membership fees are currently frozen and you access the club on a pay-as-you-go basis, this will not affect your regular guest pass quota.

What should I expect when I arrive? arrow-down

On arrival, please make your way to Hotel Reception for all food and drink bookings.

Please follow directional signage and be prepared to queue at busy times to allow for social distancing.

We will need to register your attendance for track and trace, check your membership card and take a temperature check.

Can I just visit to walk around the gardens and grounds? arrow-down

Due to social distancing and to maintain a safe capacity, we are only able to welcome members and hotel guests with pre-bookings, or those who wish to sit in the gardens and enjoy a socially-distanced drink from our ‘horsebox’ bar.

What precautions are The Lensbury taking? arrow-down

We are taking a whole host of precautions to help keep both you and our teams safe and to provide you with a reassuring dining experience. From Perspex screens at reception desks, to a reconfigured and socially distanced Lounge Restaurant and staff wearing PPE to regular and thorough cleaning schedules. You can view a more detailed overview of our measures, click here.

Can I bring my own food and drink? arrow-down

Only food and drink purchased from The Lensbury may be consumed in our Lounge Restaurant on our Terrace and in our grounds.

Are you charging membership fees? arrow-down

From 20th March 2020 and with the closure of the club facilities, we have frozen all membership fees until further notice.

More recently we have been operating our limited facilities on a pay-as-you-go basis. These facilities include tennis, watersports and personal training. We are now delighted to also be adding food and drink to the list of services we are able to offer our valued members during this time.

We will be communicating about the wider reopening of our facilities (including gym and fitness) and the resumption of membership fees as soon as we are able, in line with the latest Government advice.

Do Members receive a discount on food and drink during this time? arrow-down

Whilst membership fees are frozen and the club is operated on a pay-as-you-go basis, there will be no discount on food and drink for members. We have ensured that our menus are competitively priced offering exceptional value for money.

Will toilets be available? arrow-down

Yes, our toilet facilities will be available and social distancing must be observed when using these, as well as following the one-way systems when moving around the Lounge areas.

Will the childrens playground be available? arrow-down

Yes, our children’s playground will be available, but must be used under the supervision of a parent or guardian who are responsible for ensuring social distancing. Our teams will be regularly and thoroughly cleaning this area.
