The Riverside Restaurant & Sports Bar Opening Night
The Lensbury welcomed members and guests for an exclusive preview of its new Riverside Restaurant and Sports Bar, showcasing the new dining experience, contemporary interiors and vibrant social spaces ahead of the official opening.
Last week, we welcomed a selected few members for an exclusive preview evening of our newly transformed Riverside restaurant and Sports Bar, ahead of the official opening on Saturday 26th September. The event gave attendees the chance to experience the new spaces before anyone else, enjoying an evening filled with great food, drinks, live music and plenty of opportunities to explore what has been months in the making.

As guests arrived and took their first look around, it was wonderful to see their excitement. The centrepiece of the evening was a specially curated tasting dinner in the Riverside restaurant. Designed to make the most of its beautiful surroundings, the restaurant combines elegant interiors with a welcoming atmosphere, creating a space that feels equally suited to a special occasion, a family meal or a relaxed lunch with friends.
To showcase the restaurant's new menu, our Head Chef, Jessen Valaydon, created a four-course dining experience featuring seasonal ingredients, carefully balanced flavours and beautifully presented dishes. From the opening plates to the final dessert, each course offered guests a taste of what they can now expect when dining at the Riverside restaurant.
Guests dining at the new Riverside restaurant
Following dinner, attention turned to the much-anticipated unveiling of the new Sports Bar. Guests gathered together for the official reveal before stepping inside the transformed space for the first time. One of our ambitions for the Sports Bar was to create somewhere that feels modern and vibrant while staying connected to The Lensbury's sporting heritage. Historic photographs and references to the club's past sit alongside contemporary finishes, comfortable seating and state-of-the-art screens, creating a venue that feels both fresh and familiar.

The celebrations continued with live entertainment, speeches and a toast to the future of both venues. For us, the preview evening was about much more than unveiling a new restaurant and bar. It was an opportunity to celebrate an exciting new chapter for the club with the members and local community who make The Lensbury such a special place.
We are delighted to now welcome guests into both spaces and look forward to seeing the Riverside restaurant and Sports Bar become the backdrop to memorable meals, celebrations, sporting moments and everyday occasions for years to come.
