Personal belongings arrow-down

Please note The Lensbury accepts no responsibility for the loss or damage to guests’ property left in bedrooms or public areas.

Fire safety arrow-down

Fire alarm test

  • We carry out testing of the fire alarm system every Monday morning at 10.30am. Please take no action at this time unless the alarm bell rings continuously for more than 20 seconds.

On arrival – as soon as possible after check-in, please ensure you:

  • Check the layout of the ground floor and identify escape routes.
  • Read the fire safety emergency instructions displayed on the wall or door in your bedroom.
  • Walk the fire exit route and count the number of doors from your room to the exit. This can aid your escape should lighting be inadequate due to corridor becoming filled with smoke.
  • Note the location of the fire alarm call points in the vicinity of your room.
  • Familiarise yourself with the layout of your bedroom and your best escape routes in case of a fire emergency.
  • Place your valuable items next to the bed at night. They are then nearby if you have to evacuate your bedroom.
  • Do not ignore a fire alarm (excluding the fire alarm test outlined at the start of this section).

What to do if a fire breaks out

  • If you suspect that there is a fire, please take the following actions immediately – delay can be dangerous.
  • Report the fire immediately by breaking a fire alarm call point. Internal emergency number is 2222 and can be dialled on any on-site telephone.
  • Close the door of the room where the fire is, this will help contain the fire and restrict the spread of poisonous fumes.
  • Use the nearest exit to vacate the hotel – do not use the lifts.
  • Before opening closed doors, check them for heat which may indicate a fire behind the door.
  • If your escape route is filled with smoke, keep low where the quality of air and visibility is improved. Keep close to the wall to avoid disorientation.
  • On leaving the hotel or Ascot building, report to your evacuation point.
  • If you have a disability or you require assistant in the event of an evacuation, please inform Hotel Reception who will register you on our PEEP system.

Guests with special needs arrow-down

Please advise us if you have any special requirements due to hearing or visual difficulties, mobility impairment or any other special need so that we can make your stay more comfortable and enjoyable.
