Information events: Plans for our Thames in Teddington

What's on

7pm Free Open to all

The Teddington Society is holding an event at The Lensbury to help local people appreciate the issues and understand how we can express our views. Exploring our responsibility to pass on a clean, sustainable & fully utilised river to future generations.

Presentations from Local River Groups with Q&A:

• Thames Water’s proposed Teddington Direct River Abstraction (TDRA)
• The River Thames Scheme (RTS)
• Mayor of London’s mission : ‘swimmable river’
• ‘Mayors for a Drinkable Thames’

Confirmed Speakers:

• Mayor of London’s mission for a “swimmable river”- led by Zack Polanski, Chair of the Environment Committee for 2024-25 in the London Assembly, which has reviewed the Mayor’s commitments on swimmable rivers – the positive initiative to improve our amenity and river water quality in our local stretch above the weir.
• “Mayors for a Drinkable Thames” – led by Councillor James Manthel, Kingston Council, on this new initiative for the benefit of both river users and wildlife from Mayors of river-fronting boroughs from Hounslow to Runnymede.

This is a free event open to all, but you must register for a ticket as seating is limited.
