M&E Sales Manager

The Role

As an integral part of the Meeting & Events Sales team, the M&E Coordinator will be a key point of contact for our clients and will help organise first-class events, helping to maintain and improve The Lensbury’s reputation as a leading venue for events. From a residential conference, to summer parties and team building, this is a varied role that will focus on the planning of successful events that maximise both revenue and profit. Principle Accountabilities:

Respond to enquiries and booking requests in a timely and professional manner, ensuring proposals are tailored to the clients bespoke requests
• Alongside the M&E Sales Manager quote, negotiate, and contract M&E bookings, ensuring revenue and profitability are maximised at all times
• Arrange, host and coordinate site visits with clients with a professional approach, ensuring all details are bespoke to the clients individual requirements
• Deliver high standards of service to clients, by being friendly, warm and approachable helping to build an excellent rapport and trust with key contacts
• Ensure the complete administration and execution of all planned events and ensure all information is compiled onto the function sheets, ensuring attention to detail is maintained
• Maintain regular contact with key clients/accounts/agents to establish an excellent working relationship, ensuring all their requirements and details are accurately recorded, maximising sales opportunities as appropriate
• Working with the internal operational teams to ensure the details of the events are clearly communicated, answering any questions to ensure smooth delivery of the event in line with the clients expectations
• Maintain good management of the diary, ensuring bookings are confirmed in good time with deadlines in place
• Work closely with the Resort Revenue Director on pricing for larger groups and with the Reservations Manager in coordinating rooming lists and bedroom allocations, ensuring revenue opportunities are always maximised
• Act as a point of contact on behalf of the hotel and the client with external suppliers such as team building providers on all aspects
• Working alongside the wider events team to maximise the occupancy and room hire revenues generated from our meeting and event spaces, collaborating with the Diary Manager
• Troubleshoot any queries being able to remain calm and deliver high standards under pressure, effectively communicating with both the client and internal teams
• Proactively seek feedback from clients before, during and after the event to ensure a culture of continuous improvement is in place for all event bookings
• To be aware of industry trends, perform regular competitor analysis of other event venues and report regularly on performance and opportunities
• Ensure payment and invoice deadlines are promptly met, whilst also ensuring the final invoice is prepared accurately and promptly to ensure satisfactory payment from the client
• Support the wider events team with the coordination of other events as required

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Previous event sales or planning experience required
• Experience in using RFP platforms preferred
• Good communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Friendly and approachable with a flexible working style
• Excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal
• Good computer literacy, candidates should possess good Microsoft office skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and Project
• Great organisational skills and use of initiative
