Top Walks in South West London

Nestled amidst the pretty scenery of South West London, The Lensbury offers the perfect haven for nature enthusiasts and urban explorers alike. With an idyllic riverside location and proximity to a plethora of public trails and monuments, our hotel and members’ club provides the ideal base for memorable adventures. Grab your walking boots and embark on a journey of fresh air and enjoyment with these four refreshing walks, all easily accessible from The Lensbury’s.

1. Thames Path Walk

Immerse yourself in the beauty of the River Thames with a picturesque 4.5-mile walk from Teddington to Hampton Court. Following the Thames Path National Trail, this route winds its way along the river banks, offering panoramic views of this iconic waterway. Keep an eye out for diverse wildlife, and don’t forget to snap photos of Hampton Court Palace, steeped in rich history.

2. Bushy Park and Richmond Park

Practically on The Lensbury’s doorstep, you can take a stroll around London’s largest Royal Parks, all within a stone’s throw. Breathtaking views, deer and acres of land to explore all await as you can soak in some most eye-catching views south west London has to offer. Extend your walk to the Richmond Park Isabella Plantation where you can find flora from around the world.

3. Hampton Court Park & Palace

Home to Tudor grandeur and sprawling gardens, you can embark on a gorgeous journey, taking you on a trip through time exploring one of the most exciting periods in the UK’s heritage. Delve into the park and palace where Kings and Queens once roamed, before crossing the Thames to continue your walk along the river from Thames Ditton, past Garrick’s Ait and Platt’s Eyot towards Moseley Resevoir and Nature Reserve. If you’re still feeling energetic, you can then return to The Lensbury for a well-deserved, indulgent dinner.

4. Ready to Tee Off?

Take in some more of the south west London’s fresh air by playing some of the golf courses that abound in the area around Teddington. Discover Fulwell and Hampton Court or head across to Richmond to take on gorgeous 9- and 18-hole courses for a rewarding afternoon’s play.
